EV Charger Installation

Charge overnight in your own garage. We install Tesla Wall Connectors and every major level 2 charger, with the load calculation, permit, and rebate paperwork handled properly.

Done Right Means More Than Mounted

An EV charger is a continuous high amperage load, the biggest single appliance most homes will ever add. Doing it right starts with a load calculation to confirm your panel can carry it, the correct wire size and breaker for the charger amperage, and a permit so the work is inspected and documented.

We install hardwired and plug in units, indoors and out, and we will tell you honestly if your panel needs work first rather than overloading it.

Chargers We Install

  • Tesla Wall Connector and Universal Wall Connector
  • ChargePoint, Emporia, Wallbox, JuiceBox, and other major level 2 brands
  • NEMA 14-50 outlets on a dedicated circuit for portable charging
  • Load management devices when panel capacity is tight

Panel Capacity And Load Management

Plenty of LA homes on 100 amp services can still charge at home. Sometimes the load calculation clears a mid amperage charger as is. Sometimes a smart load management device solves it without a panel upgrade. And when a 200 amp upgrade is genuinely the right move, we quote it in the same visit so you can see the whole picture at once.

Rebates And Utility Programs

LADWP and Southern California Edison both run EV charging incentive programs, and rates like time of use plans change the economics of overnight charging. Programs change frequently, so we walk you through what is currently available for your utility as part of the quote. The details live on our rebates page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an EV charger install take?
Most installs are completed in half a day once scheduled. Runs that cross the house or require panel work take longer, and your written quote spells out the scope either way.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Yes, a dedicated EV charging circuit requires a permit and inspection in LA area jurisdictions. We pull it and meet the inspector, and the paperwork matters for rebates too.
Hardwired or plug in?
Hardwired is cleaner, supports higher amperage, and is required for some chargers outdoors. A NEMA 14-50 outlet offers flexibility for portable units. We will recommend the right fit for your car and garage.
Can my 100 amp panel handle a charger?
Often yes, with the right charger amperage or a load management device. We run the numbers instead of guessing, and give you options in writing.
What does an install cost?
It depends on the distance from the panel, the charger amperage, and whether panel work is needed, so we quote each job in writing after seeing photos or a short visit. The EV charger quote is free.
